One of the common goals of NDAB is to enhance the way of life for persons who are visually impaired. We promote education and social and cultural betterment for these individuals and encourage and assist them, especially those who are newly blinded, to develop their abilities and to assume their responsible places in their communities.
We strive to improve their opportunities for employment. Believing that high-tech equipment can play an important part in reaching this goal, we are committed to keeping informed of the ever-changing technology. We have sponsored computer workshops, instructing and assisting individuals in the use of scanners, computers, and braille and speech output devices.
Another important goal is to create public awareness about persons with sight loss. We have worked and will continue to work with organizations and agencies that are involved with adults who are losing their sight.
