Pre-convention Board Meeting

June 9th, 2017

The meeting was called to order at the Great American Inn in Devils Lake at 4:35 p.m. by Zelda. Roll call was taken. Present were Zelda, Mary, Gretchen, Helen, Robert, Carol and & Allan. Absent were Sherry and Mark. Guests were Loris VanBerkom, Janelle Olson, Doug Stip and Hermione Adams.
Camp will be held August 6th-13th. Loris gave a report of the classes that will be held. Allan made a motion to approve the classes Motion seconded, MSC.
Janelle stated that she received an e-mail from Perry Olson. The Minot Lions are interested in hosting Dining in the Dark again in Oct. Gretchen made a motion to proceed with planning. Motion seconded, MSC.

Secretary’s Report

Decisions made by e-mail since April are as follows:
Approval of Robert LePage Service Award Recipient (4-11)
Approval of Board April 2nd Board Minutes (4-11)
Correspondence
Gretchen sent a card to Perry Olson letting him know that his daughter will be remembered at the memorial service Sunday.

Legislative & Advocacy

Mary made a motion for do pass recommendation regarding the three resolutions to be voted on. Motion was seconded, MSC.

Unfinished Business

2017 Convention-discussion was held whether anything was still needed for the convention
Jean Day Grant-The grant has been submitted. Grants remain in a pool for 2 years.
Affiliates in Action-Zelda has been in contact with Rick Morin of ACB radio. Date is to be decided at this time. She asked board members who would be interested in being on the show.
Allan thanked Carol and committee for all their work for the 2017 convention.

Allan made a motion to adjourn. Motion was seconded, MSC.
