JUNE 7-9, 2019
You are cordially invited to Minot, ND on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 7, 8 and 9 to attend the 83rd annual convention of the North Dakota Association of the Blind.
The convention will be held at the Sleep Inn and Suites, 2400 10th St. SW. The Sleep Inn is connected to the Dakota Square Mall. Enter at door “C” on the south side of the hotel. The registration table is just inside the door. Registration will be on Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Hotel amenities include free continental breakfast and an attached waterpark. A block of rooms has been reserved at $109.00 plus tax per night. For reservations, call (701) 837-3100. Please specify that you are with the “NDAB Convention”. To receive the group rate, rooms must be reserved by May 24th.
* The NDAB and hotel staff cannot be held responsible to administer medications or provide assistance with personal care. If you need such assistance, please plan to attend the convention with a family member or attendant.
Stipends
If you are attending the convention for the first time and you choose to mark your registration form as such, your name will be included in a random drawing for one of two $250 stipends. Also, there will be a drawing for up to ten (10) members to receive $100.00 each. The stipends are to be used towards convention related travel and/or hotel expenses and attendance is expected. To qualify for either drawing, your registration form must be marked as to your interest and returned by May 20th. You will be notified by phone if you have been selected for a stipend.
We will load buses at the hotel at 3:30 pm to travel to the Scandinavian Heritage Park for an audio described tour, picnic supper and live entertainment. The meal will be served at 5:15 pm. Local Lions and the NDAB convention committee members are furnishing the meal. OVER->
Amy Osvold and Tracy Wicken from the NDVS/SB will be on hand to help with iPhone questions. There will be plenty of time to eat, relax, and socialize. Transportation back to the hotel starting at 7:30 pm. At the hotel, you are encouraged to continue the fun in the hospitality room until 10 pm.
